WSR School Supply Drive - Manuel Sablan
WSR School Supply Drive
For our Make-A-Difference project, my group and I decided to fund-raise to donate and give back to the WSR Elementary school. What our group observed while we were in elementary school was the need for school supplies. Almost everyday, some students would ask to borrow necessary school supplies such as pencils, sharpeners or even erasers. With that in mind, we took the initiative to buy students those school supplies. Our group fund-raised enough to buy 61 sets of pencil cases, erasers, pencils, and sharpeners. I believe that we made a difference in the lives of their first graders because they wouldn't have to depend on others to supply them with the tools they need. If I were to do this again during the summer, I would capitalize on any forms of fundraising because gathering money was one of our major issues. What I would do the same is remain in contact with our mentor because she played a key role in achieving our goal. To continue helping those first graders, I can volunteer at WSR to teach them the importance of staying focused in school as they advance in their education.

Nice work guys! I love the idea. School supplies are a very essential part in a students education.
ReplyDeleteNice job! It's great to know that there are people like you impacting the younger generations to better their future.
ReplyDeleteGood job! You guys are doing a great job by helping out the first graders to help them focuse on their Education.
ReplyDeleteGreat job Manny! Super proud
ReplyDeleteof what you did for those kids.
I still believe this will help out a lot even thought there are only 61 pencil cases. Some kids can't really buy anything and have to wait till their parents get paid.
ReplyDeleteI'm proud of you guy! I'm sure you made a difference for those who got these supplies! I loved how you guys got those really nice pencils for the kids rather than the plain wooden ones. I'm sure they will be full of excitement when they open those bags! Great job again! I hope the next time you do this, that you can document all the things that you have done and have your documentary screen at my next local youth film festival 2018.
ReplyDeleteThis is a really nice project! Good job!
ReplyDeleteNot only are you going to help these kids once you give these out, you will always be making them happy. Good job
ReplyDeleteWow, what an inspiring project!! I'm so glad your team reached out to these struggling students, sometimes they won't speak up about their unfortunate circumstances or situation and thus face difficulty in classrooms and their performance fails as a result. It's nice to see you trying to change that by providing for them! I hope you can continue to motivate students, good job!!
ReplyDeleteGood Job in giving back to the community!
ReplyDeleteI am glad we were able to complete this amazing project! You are a great productive member of our group, thanks for being a part of it!
ReplyDeleteGood job! :)
ReplyDeleteIf I didn't bring my eraser to school, I had to borrow from peers everytime I needed an eraser. Having that said, I think your project really supports students who lack in supplies because they don't need to worry about them. Good job!
ReplyDeleteGreat job on your project manny, I believe that helping the less unfortunate students gather supplies needed for their education is very thoughtful. Continue to care for children the way you did. Awesome job!

ReplyDeleteGreat job guys! Showing these kids that we should give back to the community and help each other is going lead them down the right road. Shout out to the Guam community who are also giving back!
ReplyDeleteAmazing project! Such a great way to give back to a school! Very inspiring as well!
ReplyDeleteGreat job guys! Til this day I still ask people for pens and pencils and I think it's wonderful that you guys chose to donate those necessities for our students
ReplyDeleteI like that this project was based on what you've realized from years ago! Even til now students tend to lose their erasers, pencils, etc. but it's still nice to know you wanted to help the younger aged people. Great job!
ReplyDeleteI really liked how you guys took the time to collect money to donate supplies to students who need them.
ReplyDeleteGood job on the blog and thanks for asking me to join your group in the beginning.
ReplyDeleteWow! I love how you chose to "make a difference" by supporting our youth's education. It's important that we give to a child in need, so that they don't feel discouraged, due to the lack of necessities. Providing pencils, erasers, sharpeners, and pencil cases surely heightens their learning experience, amazing job! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to provide for the youth! Your hard work is definitely making a difference and is also very inspiring. Good job!!
ReplyDeleteGreat job manny! It's very thoughtful of you and your group to think of a project like this. I bet there is not a day that goes by where a student isn't missing a certain school necessity so this is a step into solving that!
ReplyDeleteGood job to you and your group Manny! It's nice seeing students helping out to our younger generation for it would really benefit them, especially if they come from a poor family.
ReplyDeleteSo great seeing one help the little ones. Not everyone is fortunate enough to afford these supplies I'm glad you guys thought about that
ReplyDeleteI like how you gave back to the school you attended when you were a child. Great job Manny!
ReplyDeleteGood Job Manny! Hope your donation will help the students at WSR!
ReplyDeleteI really love your project dude. Keep it up.
ReplyDeleteGreat project!
ReplyDeleteThis project is great. I love how you targeted the younger students. Nowadays, some (if not, most) elementary students do not have the essential materials to pursue their education. This is a great way to help solve that problem.
ReplyDeleteI love this project! I was a part of the WSR Kingfisher family so this project really warms my heart. There are many students who may lack the basic supplies for attending class and I hope that this inspires more people to take initiative to provide a better learning experience for our youth. Good job! Aim high, fly high Kingfishers!
ReplyDeleteI remember having very little back in elementary. It's nice knowing that the kids now are getting supplies that they need and will learn to cherish. Good Job!
ReplyDeleteGood job! It is very generous of you to donate school supplies to students in need. Not everyone has the luxury of having all the school supplies they need so I think this project really did help those students.
ReplyDeleteGood job Manny. You guys did great on your project.
