School Supply Drive, WSR Technology Supply Donation -Manuel Sablan

Blog #4: Although people have began donating to the drive in Ms. Calvos Class, this was an unfortunate week. We were initially planned to preform a beach cleanup for the Cash for Trash program last Saturday, however we did not have the location. The lady at the Marianas Visitors Authority's front desk claimed that she emailed our location as well as the time prior to Saturday, however Bonnie claimed that he did not receive any email from her. The lady didn't believe him and said "I told you to make sure that you verify your email address" and Bonnie did. Contact through email is prone to fail and is not as reliable as she thinks it is. We've learned that's it is always good to be prepared to execute a plan B. Over the past week, one skill I learned was to be respectful even if the situation is unfair. Currently, we are not on track for on-time delivery. However, we need to finalize a date for our hot lunch because it is our last resort. My next action is to ...

Blog #3 Currently, our group is waiting for Marianas Visitors Authority to designate an area for us to clean. In the mean time, Bonnie has came up with an idea of charging students who play video games inside of Ms. Calvo's class during lunch. We created a sign that he will be posting inside of her class. The only thing thing that has gone wrong is the area designation. The Marianas visitors authority was supposed to give us an area at least a few days prior to the scheduled cleaning date, however, they have not. Over the past week, I personally improved on my technological skills. We created a flyer/sign on the computer which I learned from since I've never done it before. Some adjustments that should be made to the time line is collecting the money from Ms.Calvo's class. If the Marianas Visitors Authority designates an area in time, we should be on track for on-time delivery. Our next action is to confirm our cleaning time with  MVA.

Blog #2 This week, we've solidified our first form of fundraising. So far nothing has gone wrong, however we expect bad things to happen. Our plans that we made last week have come to life and it was easier than we expected. The only challenge we faced this week was gathering the courage to organize a Trash for Cash schedule with the Marianas Visitors Authority. Through this process, we learned that speaking to adults is not as intimidating as we anticipated. With the help of Bonnie's dad, we successfully scheduled a plan for March 25. Over the past week, we've improved our communicating skills and have grasped a strong idea of the scheduling and planning process. As of now, we are on track for delivery. An adjustment to the schedule of our proposal would be incorporating the Trash for Cash date on March 25, and any future Trash for Cash plans. Our next action would be replacing either car washes or hot lunches with garage sales.

Blog Week 1: So far, we have solidified the goal of our Make A Difference project. We plan to enhance the technological experience by providing headphones to the first grade students of WSR. We hope that this will make it easier for the students to access their learning programs which will ultimately make it easier for them to learn. Interviewing the vice principal of WSR was our first real experience of our project. At first we were all hesitant to begin negotiating with the public because we feared that we were too immature. However after the interview, our group's confidence increased dramatically because we realized that were well equipped to speak. As of now, we are on-time delivery. An adjustment that might have to make to our schedule are the car washes. We believe that it would be too cumbersome for the four of us. A challenge we've faced is reinforcing our main source of fundraising, and solidifying that source would be our next course of action.
